Selecting Your Door Profile
Below are a few different panel door examples available from Turkstra Lumber
- It is important to note that different door manufacturers can have similar profiles with subtle differences that can be noticeable when side-by-side. Speak to your Build-it-Better coach to ensure you match the correct manufacturer and panel style.
Raised Panel Doors:
Raised panel doors are the standard design used in most homes. (add cross-section / pictures of raised panel doors)

Shaker style doors are sleek and stylish. These doors can come with one to five horizontally recessed panels. Panels are also available in glass, with many different options available.

Flat doors:
– Hardboard or flat primed doors. A simple flat door that is primed white and has a smooth finish to it. These doors still need to be painted (on all six sides) in order to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty.
– Flat bare wood doors. These are simple flat doors that are untreated wood. Commonly made from various wood species veneers that need to be stained, painted, or finished with a protective coating.
- Barn Style doors. A surface mounted sliding door utilizing a wall mounted track. Refer to hardware section for different mounting options. Often used as a feature door, or a space saving option; any door style can be used as a barn door.
- Rustic Doors, commonly used as a barn door, these are typically solid wood or wood engineered doors with an aged or distressed look.
- French doors. Any interior door with glass panels is a French door. Many door styles are available with glass panes in place of solid panels; various glass options are available.
