HOW TO MAINTAIN A STAINED DECK
Re-apply stain every 1 to 3 years as necessary.
Test by putting water in a few different areas of the deck. If the water is absorbed within 10 minutes, you need to re-stain.
To re-stain: clear the deck of any furniture or decorations, repair any damaged areas and remove loose and peeling stain. This can be done by scraping or sanding the surface. Next, clean the deck with appropriate cleaning solution. After the cleaning solution dries you will be able to stain your deck with the stain of your choice.
It is important to note that the wood should be completely dry prior to applying stain. This is especially true in cases where the exterior surface has been power washed.
